VRNG

VRNG recently won a lawsuit against google.  They were awarded $30M in damages and will receive royalties until 2016.  We are awaiting to see what the royalty rate will be.  Also it seems like the jury made a mistake with the damage amount for google. It ended up being $15M but other people are suspecting that it should have been $150M.  The final verdict has not been entered in by the judge.

Netflix

Netflix has had an interesting move the last few weeks.  Some buyout rumors with possible suitors Amazon, Microsoft and Yahoo.  Carl Icahn recently bought stocks and options that amount to about 10% of the company.  Will Icahn force Netflix to sell to someone?  Maybe.  I think netflix should stay independent,  I don't see why they need any help.  In a few years once the international efforts become profitable they will get back to $1+ EPS per quarter.  I think the price of the stock will hit $90 by the end of the year.  The chart looks really good now.  If it falls below the 10 day simple moving average I would consider selling it.
Stocks have been taking a big hit the last few weeks.  Issues with the fiscal cliff, company earnings and now tensions in the middle east and probably a little bit of Europe.  Despite all these market is up 8% this year.  Seems like Europe issues will be with us for a long time so maybe the market is use to it and move higher any ways.

Friday may have marked the low for Apple (AAPL).  If interested you may want to buy and put a stop around $515.  Hopefully we can see this stock above the 10 day simple moving average.
